I’ve been enjoying all the coverage of the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing. While it wasn’t a perfectly conceived or executed project and was certainly of it’s time but I still find it inspirational today. I was 16 at the time of the landing and still remember my naive optimism that the moon and all of space would be opening up to us in a few short years. Wrong. Again.

Regardless, I’m hard pressed to think of any event in the 50 years since that was as uplifting for the world as a whole as landing a person on the moon in 1969.
